Teaser of Canary Islands’ first Martial Arts movie
2007.07.17 | Upcoming | by Mark PollardAdded to the list of territories that can boast of producing their own martial arts movie – recent entrants include Chile and Finland – is the Canary Islands.

This Spanish archipelago just off the northwest coast of Africa is host to Power Productions, a local filmmaking team who are at work on JUEGOS DE LUCHA (Fight Games), their first feature film and the first martial arts-styled action movie produced on the islands.
This low-budget indie actioner is described by first-time director David Xarach as having bloodless action that’s played mainly for amusement.
Martial arts and stunt action that employs parkour, kung fu and other arts is being orchestrated by stunt teams Fight Choreographers Group and Urban Action Team.
FCG is made up of twin Argentinean brothers Steven and Andrew Dasz. Steven has trained in Hollywood and most recently provided fight choreography for an upcoming Hollywood drama titled FLOAT. Andrew accrued seven years of kung fu training before joining in brother in Spain to found FCG.
JUEGOS DE LUCHA is shooting this summer and a release date is expected early in 2008. A teaser (also available at left) can be found at the juegosdelucha.net.
